Grace welcomes all inquiries into speaking engagements or conferences, in addition to group trainings. Read on for more about Grace’s approach to introducing audiences to the principles of March 4ward training:

Today, 129 people in the U.S. will end their lives by suicide. For each one, about 25 more will try. For each one, circles of families and friends are left grieving. And the numbers are rising. This is valuable to know when it comes to awareness of suicide as a growing epidemic, but as the numbers of people considering, attempting and dying by suicide rises, it becomes even more vital to train parents, siblings, teachers, neighbors, coworkers, faith communities and friends to be equipped to provide an informed response when they witness a person’s pain.

We can teach people to recognize the signs of a heart attack and conduct CPR. The same applies to choking and the Heimlich maneuver. Similarly, there is a skill in recognizing when a person is in pain, honoring the source of that pain and bringing them to a place of safety and healthy living. Developing that skill, like learning the skill of CPR or Heimlich maneuver, requires training and practice.

March 4ward gives groups a framework for recognizing the need for and implementing a response plan, just as in the event of a fire, tornado, active shooter, choking or heart attack. And, just as organizations maintain fire extinguishers, security doors, and AEDs, the training equips participants with concrete tools to use when they are at the front line of the response.

This is the opportunity to become part of a network of individuals who are trained to Look, See, Ask, Tell and Do, and respond to the pain of those who are struggling. March 4ward’s well-organized, easy-to-teach framework allows most every adult to become equipped – with training – to support struggling family members, students, coworkers, neighbors and friends, and to perhaps even be the person who is able to save another from ending his or her life by suicide.

Each training ends with a challenge to walk away from the session armed with something to do differently today: Who do you know who is Fragile; who can you call on today to help them march forward? And, will you now make the call?
